Uses & Mechanism of Action

For Adults (≥ 18 years), taken once daily or as prescribed

Combination therapy of:

Atenolol (50 mg) — a cardio‑selective β₁‑blocker that reduces heart rate and cardiac output

Chlorthalidone (12.5 mg) — a thiazide‑class diuretic that promotes salt & water excretion

Primary indications:

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Angina (chest pain)

Prevention of cardiovascular complications like stroke, heart attack, or kidney disease due to high BP

Adjunct uses: migraine prevention, certain arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, post‑myocardial infarction management, and edema reduction
