What Is Cobolmin 500 mcg Injection?

• Active Ingredient: Mecobalamin (also known as methylcobalamin), a coenzyme form of vitamin B₁₂. 

• Strength: 500 µg per ampoule (commonly 1 mL). 

• Form: Injectable solution (ampoules)—suitable for IM or IV use. 

✅ Indications and Uses

Cobolmin 500 mcg is typically prescribed for:

• Megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B₁₂ deficiency (such as pernicious anemia).

• Peripheral neuropathies, especially nerve damage in hands and feet. 

Mecobalamin plays key roles in the synthesis of DNA, red blood cells, nerve cell support, and neurotransmission. 

💉 Dose & Administration

• Induction Phase: Typically, 1 ampoule via IM or IV injection 3 times per week.

• Maintenance Phase: After about 2 months, dosage may drop to 1 ampoule once every 1–3 months. The exact schedule should be tailored by a healthcare provider based on your response and underlying condition.
