Pharmacist Advice
Take ESOPASE exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is commonly taken before a meal, often in the morning. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew it unless your specific product instructions allow otherwise.
Do not use it continuously for prolonged periods without medical supervision. Persistent heartburn may require medical evaluation to rule out other conditions.
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems, low magnesium levels, osteoporosis, or if you take multiple medicines.
Seek urgent medical attention for chest pain, particularly if it is associated with sweating, dizziness, shortness of breath or pain spreading to the arm, jaw or shoulder, because serious heart conditions can sometimes resemble heartburn.
