🧴 Therapeutic Use & Indications

Iboxime suspension is indicated for various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:

• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)

• Otitis media (ear infection)

• Pharyngitis / Tonsillitis

• Bronchitis / Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis

• Uncomplicated gonorrhea 

⚠️ Adverse Effects & Precautions

Common side effects:

• Gastrointestinal discomfort: diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, gas

• Dizziness, headaches, rash, and changes in stool color
  Serious adverse events may include:

• Allergic reactions or anaphylaxis

• Clostridium difficile–associated diarrhea or hepatic enzyme elevations

• Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment

• Cross-allergy possible with penicillin-sensitive individuals

• Administration: With or without food

• Typical Adult Dosage: 200–400 mg daily, in either single dose or divided doses depending on infection type; pediatric dosing based on weight (e.g. 8‑12 mg/kg/day in divided doses) Important: Complete full prescribed course and never double up missed doses
