VILGET M 50 /1000 MG 28S TAB

Vilget M 50/1000 mg, 28‑tablet pack is a prescription-only fixed‑dose combination medication produced by Getz Pharma (Private) Limited, Pakistan. It contains:

• Vildagliptin 50 mg (a DPP‑4 inhibitor)

• Metformin hydrochloride 1000 mg (a biguanide)
  

✅ Indications

Used as adjunct therapy in type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise aren’t enough, particularly for patients inadequately controlled on metformin alone, or for triple therapy alongside sulfonylureas or insulin.

📌 Dosage & Administration

• Recommended adult dose: 1 tablet twice daily with meals, tailored to the patient’s existing metformin regimen.Not recommended for children or adolescents under 18. Not suitable for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

⚠️ Common Side Effects & Precautions

Side Effects:

• Gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, diarrhea, flatulence)

• Headache, dizziness

• Vitamin B₁₂ deficiency over longer use

• Rare: lactic acidosis, liver enzyme abnormalities, angioedema, rash, upper respiratory infection

Warnings/Contraindications:

• Not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding

• Avoid if you have renal or hepatic impairment, acute infection, dehydration, heart or respiratory failure

• Stop treatment 48 hours before and after surgery or radiologic contrast exposure

• If combining with other glucose-lowering drugs, monitor for hypoglycemia risk.
